JACKMAN, ME Skowhegan Savings is pleased to announce a $5,000 donation to the Jackman Regional Paramedicine Program in honor of Jackman branch manager Betsy Begin, who is retiring after more than 38 years in the banking industry.

Selected by Begin as part of her retirement recognition, the donation reflects her longstanding commitment to the Jackman region and the many relationships she has built throughout her banking career, while supporting an organization that provides vital healthcare services to residents in the community.
“Betsy has been a tremendous asset to Skowhegan Savings and the Jackman community,” said Dan Tilton, president and CEO of Skowhegan Savings. “Throughout her career, she has built lasting relationships with customers and consistently demonstrated what community banking is all about - caring for people and making a difference. We’re honored to recognize her retirement with a donation to an organization that shares her dedication to helping others.”
Jackman Regional Paramedicine Program is an innovative, grant-funded rural healthcare initiative and partnership between Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC), the Town of Jackman, St. Joseph Healthcare and Northeast Mobile Health Services. The program provides 24/7 after-hours urgent care in Jackman by combining advanced paramedicine with telemedicine services. Operating from the Jackman Community Health Center, specially trained paramedics deliver advanced care locally, helping reduce one-hour emergency transport times and fill critical healthcare gaps left after the loss of 24/7 on-call services at the local clinic in 2018.
“We’re thankful to Skowhegan Savings for this generous donation in honor of Betsy’s retirement,” said Town of Jackman selectman, Alan Duplissea. “Betsy has been a familiar and trusted part of our community for many years, always willing to lend a helping hand and support local initiatives. This contribution to the Jackman Regional Paramedicine Program is a meaningful way to recognize her dedication while supporting a service that is so important to the health and well-being of our residents.”
“I’m incredibly grateful for the relationships and experiences I’ve had throughout my career at the bank,” said Begin. “Serving the Jackman community has meant so much to me and I’m honored that Skowhegan Savings chose to support the Jackman Regional Paramedicine Program in recognition of my retirement. The work they do is so important to our community.”
Jackman native, Begin joined Skowhegan Savings in 2010 through the bank’s acquisition of Border Trust Company, where she started her banking career, and has served as branch manager of the Jackman branch, where she has been dedicated to helping customers and supporting the local community with their day-to-day banking and home buying needs. Over her 38-year banking career, she has become well known for her commitment to customer service and community involvement.
