Vicki Alward, EVP Chief Operating Officer, recently had the honor of presenting awards at the 2026 Dirigo Labs Pitch Competition, with all prizes sponsored by Skowhegan Savings. Maggie Leone, AVP Commercial Lender, also represented the bank as a judge at this year's competition. This year's $20,000 grand prize winner, Latis Materials, is a startup developing bio-derived carbon fiber materials and composites, an exciting example of the innovative thinking that drives Maine's economy forward. The competition also recognized Drink SobaSparkle with the $2,500 Cohort Choice Award and Dooryard with the $2,500 Audience Choice Award.

A team from Skowhegan Savings recently visited Dexter Regional High School to present Athletic Director Adam Gudroe with a $5,000 donation in support of the school's football field lights project. With contributions from the community, alumni, and local businesses, the Dexter Tigers will soon be taking the field under the lights when installation is completed this summer.
