Skowhegan Savings welcomes Elsa McGary to the business treasury management team

SKOWHEGAN, ME   Skowhegan Savings is pleased to announce that Elsa McGary has joined the bank as vice president of treasury management. With more than 30 years of banking experience, a strong background of supporting businesses and developing lasting customer relationships, McGary will lead and grow the bank’s treasury management services while helping customers identify solutions to meet their needs. She will be based out of the bank’s Portland branch.

“Elsa brings a tremendous amount of banking experience, leadership and relationship-building expertise to Skowhegan Savings,” said Andrew Fortin-Trimble, senior vice president and chief banking officer of Skowhegan Savings. “Her extensive background in treasury management and business development, combined with her commitment to providing exceptional service, will help us continue growing our treasury management capabilities and strengthen our support for business and commercial customers."

McGary spent more than a decade with Machias Savings Bank as vice president cash management relationship manager and cash management service team leader. In this role, she worked closely with commercial lenders to support business customers and manage some of the bank's largest client relationships while training and mentored members of the cash management sales and service teams. Her banking career also includes experience in business development, branch management, mortgage lending, client relations and project management at other Maine financial institutions. Her broader professional experience includes serving as director of client relations and project management at FISC Solutions in Lewiston, as well as working in experiential marketing and brand strategy at Garrand Marketing in Portland.

McGary completed the New England School for Financial Studies and the Leadership Program for Women and Allies at Babson College. She earned a Psychology of Leadership Certificate from Cornell University and studied Organizational Leadership at Southern New Hampshire University and education at Saint Joseph's College. Outside of banking, McGary has served as a volunteer wish granter with Make-A-Wish since 2020.
